Topic: how amazon helped me fix my microsoft silverlight issue and i learned to stop fearing IE

squeegee started this discussion 10 years ago #48,297

no, i still hate IE but i can at least watch amazon stuff again. won't work on firefox for some reason, fucking microsoft bastards, but it was a pain in the ass. they don't actually have a procedure for fixing it in windows 10 so i had to go through tech support and dude was like, "swipe the corner of your screen" and i was all, "what?" and so there were some communication issues. but we overcame them, and now i can maybe get netflicks again.

oh fuck, i had screen shotted the conversation where we went back and forth about swiping things and me saying "you want me to swipe what now?" but i guess i lost it when i restarted the browser. i was so confused, lol. i had to screen shot my desktop and post an imgur link so he could see what i was seeing, and then he was like, "what happens if you click this" and we got it figured out. thanks imgur!

For a while I though Silverlight only worked for Internet exploder. So is that not the case?

worked just fine in any browser until i upgraded to win 10 and the plugin locked me out with DRM. fucking stupid. microsoft's plugin was borked by microsoft's upgrade.

the fix was not straight forward, and it still wont work in my preferred browser.

piracy: it's just more convenient and easier...
