Unless I misremembered when Patti got a doggy bag for her leftovers in Season 1 of the Leftovers she had already finished her meal, so what was the doggy bag for?

I just watched it back (S0105 33:20 - 36:40) and she uses the doggy back to write on. I don't remember the "last session" she was referring to though.
