And not like a reboot, but a continuation, like a season twelve.
A mix of new characters and old characters.
Maybe Cheers is now managed and owned by Woody Boyd who was given the bar by Sam Malone since he clearly had some thoughts about entrusting it to him.
Introduce a new heart-throb somewhat sexist bartender like Sam and perhaps have Sam make occasional visits to the bar as a patron who bestows upon the new bartender advise about how to get women.
A new waitress who's a student, basically a newer version of Diane Chambers.
The second waitress could maybe be a gender fluid person seeing as the concept of a "tomboy" is passe.
Carla should be involved somehow to make sarcastic comments toward the new cast and old ones.
Cliff could still be hanging around the bar as a retired postal worker who finds it hard to find things to do now that he isn't serving the uniform.
Norm would probably have passed away from some health related issue making this something Cliff has to deal with by not having his beer buddy by his side anymore.
Maybe a black bartender too since there has always been two of them and why not have a black character?
I just want to see how these characters respond to the events and social customs of the mid-to-late nineties, noughties, and now.
