paving the way for indirect detection maybe?

it would also seem that a galaxy can be stripped of it's dark matter. they have imaged some interesting galaxy mergers and found huge imbalances in gravitational lensing effects which lead them to believe that the collision flung all of the matter out. so it kind of informs on the properties of the stuff. it would seem that if dark matter acts as a "bowl" within which matter accumulates it can slosh its contents out, which is kind of neat.

So they can prove "dark matter" exists, but they still can't prove Apollo wasn't faked. Cool story, NASA.

Dark matter and Dark Energy. So much of it yet its only scientific speculation which is covered by Math/Physics YET is still 95.1% a mystery.
On the other hand the balance 4.9% is well understood and visible to science

i think you're confused. people speculate that dark matter exists and are looking for evidence that proves it exists. no one is claiming it does exist and everyone should believe it despite a lack of evidence for it. science is educated guesswork and verification and disposing of that which is proven false.

it's the exact opposite of faith which you seem to have confused for the scientific method.

You fool! The moon landing hoax is just a cover to draw attention away from the FACT that space travel is a hoax and ALL supposed satellite imagery and orbiter and lander images were FAKED by NASA. We have never traveled to so called "space" and it may not even exist. In fact, "the moon" is actually a hoax perpetuated by NASA. The moon is ACTUALLY a mass hallucination induced by chemtrails.

Yes I No full well you are only trolling. But it did remind me that many here have seen objects in space with just their eyes like Planets n Stars and a few have even viewed a moving Satellite.
One of the very best views is to see Globalstars competitor Iridium - Iridium Flares are very interesting as they move 17,500 MPH. Iridium's body is highly reflective. My Satellites are not reflective at all.

http://www.heavens-above.com/

One can use this website to find interesting things to add to Planets n Stars. Iridium is on the list. Click it and it will tell you when YOU depending on where YOU are - can see the Satellite Flares.
So Troll no need for me to prove anything to you when U can C for self.

Oh by the way the Koran does say Earth is Flat. Bet you cannot prove otherwise.

You are obviously a government plant with the intention of keeping THE SHEEPLE in place. All of the photos taken on site at the Apollo missions, the photos from orbit, the video footage, the Apollo sites being imaged by the later Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, radio transmissions from earth to the moon and back, and personal testimony from numerous people who have been to the moon ARE NOT EVIDENCE!!!!11! They were faked by NASA! It is way more obvious they are a half century long worldwide conspiracy perpetuated by the Bilderberg Group, the Rothschild family, and aliens from Zeta Reptili and the Pleiadians. Obama is part of it, YOU are part of it, and every major worldwide government is part of it!

@628,501 (L)
i've heard people even deny evidence gathered by the russians. what's funny though is that the absolute best proof for the lunar landing comes from how the flight computer works. to save weight they went with a 3 gimbal instead of 4 gimbal (anti-gimbal lock) configuration for their positional tracking. this required that the flight computer be calibrated manually in-flight by reading taken from an on board sextant. this would have been an impossible feat to accomplish from the ground, and every single apollo flight ended up with gimbal lock and had to calibrate the flight computer usually more than once during a flight. this was a critical problem that would have resulted in missing lunar injection (like quite a lot of early lunar probes had done.)

so the simple fact that a vehicle of the apollo type was able to perform the kinds of course corrections made during a typical flight (as tracked by the russians) shows that manned intervention occurred. but, that's a rather high-tech example and requires people know something about how mechanical gimbals and early positional tracking was done.

Way back I had a HP calculator with a moon landing program and one had to go through all the steps the apollo crew went through to land successfully. I think I got it right in one of 8 tries. Very tricky. Usually I wood run out of fuel and float.

Just looked up that Apollo computer Geeeeeshhhhh
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer
Worth a quick skim - All made with just One type of Fairchild three-input NOR gate,4,100 of them and Clock was 2.048 MHz.
Memory 16-bit wordlength,
2048 words RAM (magnetic core memory), 36,864 words ROM (core rope memory)

My first Engineering hands on computer assignment was to increase the production throughput of Magnetic core memory blocks. Ended up having to go on the production line to train girls how2 and I became somewhat famous for a few weeks until the girls started to throw them at me when I came down the isle.

but, i will say that to accept the design of the spacecraft as evidence for a crew you'd have to accept that a vehicle of the apollo type was actually launched. and that's the real big problem with most moon conspiracy stuff is that many of them deny even that. for that to be true then some kind of probe was sent (and tracked) and everyone at nasa (especially the astronauts) are all just liars and the whole thing was a hoax. which means that any evidence is outright dismissed since everything that happened post-launch is pure fabrication. that basically means that no evidence (except evidence that supports a hoax) will ever be considered as valid by deniers. they'll always just move the goal posts and call any supporting evidence part of the lie.

artifacts on the moon (ie reflectors): simply unmanned landers
flights tracked by 3rd parties: simply unmanned probed
direct communication with astronauts: scripted pre-recordings played back via radio from said probes
photographs and video: secret hollywood sound stage
moon rocks: fake moon rocks
testimony from literally tens of thousands of people present for the entire program including astronauts, controllers, engineers, scientists and family members: all liars

short of taking the denier back in time, making them an astronaut and launching them to the moon no amount of "proof" will ever be conclusive enough.

> short of taking the denier back in time, making them an astronaut and launching them to the moon no amount of "proof" will ever be conclusive enough.
Pretty much

> moon rocks: fake moon rocks
Funny thing is moon rock is different from earth rock. (i.e. different ratios of isotopes of various elements and concentrations of certain elements) This wouldn't fool geologists, and simply gathering up moon meteors wouldn't either because the passage falling through the atmosphere (read: a fuckton of heat involved) leaves a pretty distinctive mark on the rocks. Plus the Soviet samples matched ours. But maybe it's all a big conspiracy, and we can't trust the gubbment, right?
