I can't stand it. Everything from Starkist™ tuna to trout caught fresh a couple hours ago. Just the fishy smell makes me about vomit :(

It's odd cause I love crustaceans and mollusks but any kind of fish is nasty to me.

Does anyone else hate fish?

Same, although I hate all seafood, with the obvious exception of Fish 'n' Chips. Although, I don't mind tuna or salmon. I should probably stop being so close-minded and try stuff like prawns and smoked salmon though.

I've never enjoyed freshwater fish, which sucks because I can catch all I want. I don't think I've ever had seafood I didn't like.

Great lesson of life is to watch Asians buy a fresh whole fish. They look at eyes for clarity and then pull back a gill and get nose millimeters close and inhale.
If the slightest hint of odor is there its a No buy Fish.

as someone who has spent a lot of time fishing, fresh water to salt water, i can say that fresh fish do not have a fishy smell, they smell more like the water you pull them out of than anything. even after you gut them they don't stink. it takes a bit of time for a fish to start smelling "fishy." when you go to the fish market at the grocery it stinks like smelly fish because they cut up fish and juices and get everywhere and end up stinking. it's, like, their sinks and counters that stink so bad. not usually the fish. unclean areas in fish markets stink up real quick, too.

but if you pull a fish out of the water and gut it on the spot you won't smell "fish" unless you let blood and guts and skin and fins sit in the boat. fish get gross really quickly, but fresh fish doesn't stink.
