right, so thanksgiving originated as a puritanical christian tradition. the puritans had days of fasting and days of thanksgiving and eventually it become a national holiday as well as a religious holiday. but i guess since there's not many puritans around anymore it's more of a national holiday just rooted in christianity is all. i didn't really remember the specifics, like i said we don't really celebrate the genocide of our people with some culturally appropriated day of feasting used to obfuscate mass murders. that's what my mom said anyway
