Brooke and i discovered blood on the pillows then a bunch of teeny tiny cutesie wootsie bed bugs in a jacket! They can live over a year without food. Im talking to the landlord tomorrow because im not paying for this shit.

Yeah, i think at one time bed bugs were way more common, so the phrase was more applicable. They are very hard to get rid of so probably just hung around in the past. In poor areas i imagine they are still prevalant, and difficult to get rid of because poverty
