The parents of two students had sued, alleging that the yoga program promotes Hinduism while the district discourages any display of Christianity.
The school district hired the yoga instructors and controlled the curriculum, the appeals court said. Parents can have their children opted out of the yoga instruction.
Broyles said one result of the lawsuit has been that "more and more parents opt their children out of the yoga classes after learning the truth."
The program, he said, has children worshiping the Hindu sun god Surya, an accusation that district officials deny. Yoga supporters, he noted, consider yoga to be "spiritually transformative."

Neuroscience and cognitive psychology are cutting-edge, these days. There's still multiple theories on pretty much any form of behavior, but they're (ideally) all peer-reviewed and abide by the scientific method.
That's not to say you can't have an interest in Freudian Psychology, of course. It's very interesting. But you shouldn't take it too seriously, it was an early attempt at understanding human behavior, and is outdated today.

Neuroscience is more of a study of the brain, not the mind. A person can understand a brain and how it produces thoughts and so on..
But to understand a person is quite different, it's the key to help them. You don't just see a person in distress and conclude it needs more dopamine like a machine needs more oil. Maybe you ask what is wrong and you start from there.
Cognitive psychology is the same as i understand.

Of course, I'm not saying that neuroscience is the be-all and end-all, just that it's very prominent today. Because it is where human behaviour comes from, and today we have the technology to study it better than ever.
No, most Psychologists today know that behaviour in general must be looked at holistically. Genes, culture, beliefs, environment, all of them can be behavioural factors. I guess all I was trying to say with the "nuero and cognitive" comment is that they're fairly prominent theories, these days. Certainly not the only ones, operating in a vacuum.

Well that's good. Honestly though, neuroscience is quite a big threat to humanity. You don't understand the implications of it all, it's the most dehumanizing thing ever. It's not the science of neuroscience that's so dangerous but the philosophical implications that is gaining support.
They the neuroscience "doctors" claim that in the end they can cure anything at all, anything that people think will need to be cured. Like transsexualism or a disobedience to authority.

I've seen that before, the fear that coming to fully understand the brain like a machine could have some scary implications. And I can believe it. Not to be alarmist, but it could open the door to full-on mind control, or could make us think of human behavior in overly-reductionist terms. Just organic machines running a piece of hardware, so to speak.
Hopefully we won't see the worst case scenario. Governments are under a lot of scrutiny, these days. If it turns into bad stuff, then people should notice and speak up.
