OK since no one else is talking, I will start! I play mostly Nintendo games. I have a wiiu and new 3ds. I have an xboner but I never get around to actually using it. I am going to build a pc is couple days and get FO4 and probably some other games that my current laptop can't handle. What are you all playing?

One thing I've been concerned about is my taste in games becoming too narrow. So recently I've tried looking into genres I don't usually play to try and branch out.

A horror game that caught my eye is DreadOut. In short, you're up against ghosts that can only be seen through your camera phone. I tried the demo and uninstalled it because it made me feel rather tense, but I later realised that that's precisely what a horror game should be doing. Plus, the camera mechanic made me legitimately paranoid of my surroundings because I kept pulling up the camera to look around. Which is good, because I've yet to have a horror game pull me in so effectively. So I'll have to go back to it.

Another game I'm eyeballing is a JRPG called Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. I never really got into JRPGs (Pokemon aside), and this is supposed to be exemplary example of the genre. So I'll grab it when it's on sale during Christmas(hopefully).

@626,571 (Fake anon !ZkUt8arUCU)
Nothing but Fallout 4, right now. And it shall stay that way for a while.

@626,560 (A)
Green: I'm not sure what to say. It was always fine for me.

Just map your most useful abilities to the ability buttons. And I still think you should lower the difficulty, since then you can get through with little beyond basic attacks.

I still need to get into Fallout 3. It is too complex for me though.

I assume he is struggling to comprehend Liberty Prime. Prime is an extremely nuanced and complicated character who very often causes confusion in gamers when they try to understand him.

I don't understand the medkits and the ability system. Although, I felt the same way about Oblivion but when I understood it I found it to be one of the deepest RPG experiences (I think Oblivion is a better RPG than Skyrim, but Skyrim is the better game).

i dont know why im trying to explain this to you, but here goes:

its stimpaks. you use them and you regain health. though you can also eat food and regain health. health goes down when you get hurt. you die when your health reaches 0.

the ability system has you put points into your "SPECIAL" skills at the start of the game, which determine what kind of things your character will be good at in the general sense (stuff like how much you can carry, how good with melee weapons you are, how good with guns you are, etc). You can read more about them here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_SPECIAL

then there's perks. when you level you get to choose perks, which just tweak your gameplay in various ways. there's perks like being good at killing people of the opposite sex, or having a random stranger help you in a firefight every so often, or just plain making your enemies explode into a gory mess when you kill them.

oh no, probably not even close. still haven't gotten the detective companion. i'd be further along but i've been playtesting another game and doing bug reports since this weekend. i've also done more side quests than main quests and i spend a lot of time exploring on my way to destinations. pretty much i set a destination the spend like 2 or 3 hours getting there then i hop back and forth stashing junk and modding gear and clearing dungeons.

probably playing very slowly, but i have close to 75 hours lol.

Then all I will say, is that the final mission is pretty good (at least the version that I did). There are also multiple paths to take, exis is cool.

you fucking die and make sure to not have that happen again. get out of combat asap and fast travel to a city.

i have like 99+ stimpacks. health is everywhere. i don't think i've used food for healing even once. just buffs. maybe it's my high luck, but i've had zero problems staying healed and flush with stimpacks.

and with quality quick saves you can forgo healing altogether and just die and respawn and approach differently.

What difficulty are you on? That doesn't sound like a challenge. Isn't it too easy?

I usually am somewhat limited with my stimpacks, in my FO4 game. Like, there's usually a risk I'll run out if I'm not careful. Probably because of my playstyle, I haven't taken any DR or HP perks (for fear the game would become too easy) and am doing a melee character. But it's still a little too easy, usually.

Next run, I'm going to go for a firearms character that doesn't use power armour, and and starts on survival. I anticipate it will be a very fun (but fair) challenge.

normal difficulty. but like i said i avoid using stim packs and rely on good saves and respawns. so instead of using 10 stims to not die i'll approach differently so i can conserve them.

but i also have high luck and find stims in almost every first aid kit.

i never stim in combat. just afterwards. pretty much every game i play i end up massing health cause i don't use it. and fast travel to sleep somewhere also saves a stimpack or two.

oh yeah, i don't have any strength or endurance and don't use power armor. more of a sneak killer. so if i get spotted and have a real fight i die from being squishy
now rad-x and rad-away i'm always low on becuase i use those pretty frequently.

Ah, that might be a factor. My character only has 2 luck. Though I still think that stimpacks are fairly plentiful.

Also, that's funny. I have absurd amounts of Rad-X and Rad-away. Where are you using it all, m8?

early on ghouls gave me a lot of rads becuase they'd hit me and i used a ton in the first 20 hours. probably don't use as much now especially since i've gotten a full rad suit.

and yeah, stim packs might just be plentiful. i have just tons.

You guys buy anything in the Steam sale that's going on, yet?

I just bought:

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (JRPG)

DreadOut (horror)

Metal Gear Rising: Revengence (Hack and slash)

I think I shall successfully expand my tastes with this lineup. So glad Steam put in refunds, too. So if I don't get on with any of them, no real harm done.
