I just bought one fora. I always feel weird about it cause it's a dessert everyone mocks and makes jokes about but I really do like them around Christmas.

I've done so a few times but due to the inherent wrinkliness of the scrotum, irritation and redness often result. I may purchase an electric body razor and go back to it. But at the moment my pubic hair is present and accounted for.

I've never eaten it; I believe this can be traced back to when I was young child and I read a book in which it was mentioned in a very negative way, which scared me away from it. To be honest though it sounds kind of tasty. Perhaps I'm missing out.

It's honestly not bad. It's just a cake with candied fruit and nuts in it. It's very rich, you dont want to eat a giant slab of it but I highly recommend you try a bit. Perhaps with some Christmas carols and wassail or mulled wine to set the mood.

What, fruitcake? It's not really a gendered food. It makes me feel like Christmas. I guess it's a very old, traditional thing but for me it brings a bit of cheer to the winter months. Also, eggnog with brandy and leaving the windows open when I sleep so I can really feel the chill at night and in the morning.

Yeah, honestly that sounds awesome. I like cake, fruit, and nuts, so it sounds like a sweet deal. If I remember I'll look for some next time I get groceries so I can at least say I've tried it.

Fruitcake is actually good but has some large legend surrounding it.
The joke that comes to mind is that if you get a fruitcake as a gift it's the same fruitcake that has re-gifted for the billionth time.
So yeah, just get a fresh one and your're all good!

it's more like dry sweet bread with candy in it than 'cake with fruit and nuts' which is why it's gross

Yes and with infusing fruitcake in liquors after a few weeks the dry part is no longer dry.

Much of the alcohol content does evaporate - its the moisture and added flavour Brandy n Rum add and moisture is very important
