Topic: So I'm reading about so-called 'Alien' skulls
Soupie !FaiGWhdD4g started this discussion 11 years ago#47,606
The idiot. He says Inca and Aztec skulls belonging to their respective elites are alien merely because of a few missing sutures (they disappear gradually into adulthood anyway) and their relative height, which can easily be explained by extreme brachycephaly - it's not actually uncommon to Europid, Proto-Mongoloid or Negroid skulls of exceptional people either, it's just that the pre-existing peculiarties of the Amerind skull - extreme triangularity - will serve to exaggerate such an appearance.
Apparently he's never seen a normal Amerind skull, so just to illistrate, look at the picture embedded on the far bottom right corner.
Now, imagine such a skull, slightly taller. No star-children involved, folks.

Eherm, but autism being treatable with anything is discredited, pseudo-Nazi/strawman-Nazi pseudoscience from edgy Fabio-Marxist 'tards.

Very funny, a poorly concealed jab at me.
You'd called my ideological prism that out of poorly grasped and deliberately misportrayed strawman. What I actually ascribe my ideology has little to do with Eurocentrism and more to do with numerous Raven's IQ studies conducted accross races the globe over; these would, in fact, firmly place Amerinds and Mongoloids above Whites. Performance IQs in the formermost and middlemost exceed 100, the Mongoloid by more than a Standard Deviation.
When the full-score (Performance+Verbal) is accounted, the Amerind falls to 3rd place, but Mongoloids still excel past Europeans of all subtypes.

I think that's more the parents being creepy, really. Though creepy might be putting it lightly. If the parents in question are from modern countries, then "batshit insane" might be more accurate.

There is definitely some merit to IQ, it's just that there can be lots of obstacles in getting an accurate reading. Cultural differences, multiple intelligences, test-retest reliability are all things that can make things awkward.
But, as far as I am aware, modern IQ tests are pretty decent. Certainly, there does seems to be some sort of "general intelligence" in people that we can measure. Maybe not entirely accurately, but decently enough.

No, he's been here this entire time.
Cultural differenes are a product of differences in intelligence and especially intellectual style, there are only 4 measurable intellectual styles per the Weschler and not 7 'types' contrary to idiotic pop-scientific lore on the matter - quickness (processing speed), fluidity (Raven subset), visual (non-verbal reasoning) and verbal (comprehension) - and statistical techniques exist to ensure such reliability despite inconsistency, like ignoring anomalies over multiple tests; they've certainly shown one thing in 100 years of applicability and it's that it has guaged reliably the racial-civilization heirarchy over a protracted period of time. Improvements in each group have only ever been relative; the rank remains as it did too long for 'White racism' to have been a factor.

As a taker of IQ tests on more than a few occasions, with reasonably solid scores, the author assures the reader that they know that which one speaks of.

Oh, when I said "cultural differences", I meant that a good IQ test must account for different cultures. So, theoretically, somebody from a different culture should be able to take it and not be at a disadvantage. This was a problem in earlier IQ tests.

Cultural bias, may there be any that exists, is usually a consequence of the verbal sub-section and its constituent content, of which some groups may have unfair exposure to in either direction.
This is why solely non-verbal tests are increasingly used in cross-cultural IQ studies.
