On occasion I will hit IRC - Try for Syntax and it may tell me that nick is taken - YET If I pay no mind which is easy for me
I just go ahead and start chat and my nick appears - So sometimes one must disobey a message (many I have to pay no attention to like kill self) and just proceed on
