Many say that the Internet can bring bigger changes than it already has. It's often closely related to this vision of direct democracy and the empowerment of individuals. It has this alluring effect where we are led to think we can change things by being active on the Internet or simply using the Internet as an aid for our humanitarian goals.
However, wasn't the Internet/social-media praised in the beginning of the Arab spring? Now if anything its only gotten worse.
tldr: Internet is overrated as a tool for change/revolution?
