I know everyone on this site thinks I am a cider monster that goes burning whole towns to the ground for cider, but I do care about living creatures. There was a duck with an injured wing at the river once and I used to bring it a lot of food because it made me sad to see it hurt and I wanted it to become stronger. I also make sure I capture spiders and release them out the window.

Majority prescriptivism doesn't determine a simple bilateral reciprocal relation. Even Cohen would find that to be logically suspect.
It's much smaller scale than this; any neurotypical who can't make an effort to relate to an Aspie is yet another individual proving the reality of both their psyhcopathy and vacuous reciprocal emotional responsivity by showing the defectiveness of their empathetic strategies' global application.
It's less a question of 'which strategy is correct' and more of regarding empathy as an individual-instances phenomenon, than global traits applicable to entire groups.
He even admits, too, that the statistical phenomenon can't judge the moral judgement in this regard, due to the nature of this functional definition.

Psychopathy can be indeed ingrained societally justifiable if everyone is cognitively strategizing -- really predating -- against each-other. It's more the nonsense definition of feminists local to here that empathy means they also have a monopoly on emotional literacy which gets to me.
