Engineering and as in photo.Chemistry used to be back as teen when I was making explosives and fireworks - Has also been terrific as help in Engineering but it also could have been my Consulting downfall cause I was more then just lucky to have not been asked for one important opinion - If asked I wood have made the worst mistrake of my career.

I don't know if I'm at "expert level", but my specialities as a human would probably be Psychology and video games.
I'm also trying to learn Japanese, so I suppose that could one day qualify as an expertise if I attain fluency. If a language counts, anyway.

Explosives/Fireworks and drugs, of course, are a couple of the main reasons I love chemistry. Very cool shit to make when making homemade explosives. I once had a homemade flashbang go off in my face. I was blind for a couple minutes and deaf for a good 5-7. Fucking hilarious though. So priceless, I wish I had it on camera to watch lol. Haha, I know it was a bit of a lame answer, but it's a big part of my life. :P
It's also affected my brain, at this point. I once took part in a Psychology experiment which was, basically, making your hand twitch repeatedly using electrical signals into the brain. I only needed a low level of electricity because all of the video gaming had increased the sensitivity of my brain, or something like that.

You might've made a good choice on the German. I once read it's quite closely related to English, so it should be one of the easiest languages you could hope to learn as an English speaker.
Nah, no interest in other languages. A big part of the reason I decided to learn Japanese is because the Japanese make lots of comics and video games that I could enjoy better if I knew the language.

Kind of going in your direction. Psychology BA with an emphasis on biological psych (seriously, there was a French class across the hall that got the room confused and walked in while we were all dissecting brains... wicked! They were never the same.) and a minor in computer information systems. That all got me into a PhD program in cognitive science studying vision and mathematical models of computer vision. (basically, can you make a computer model that will "see" like a person) So fun times. Most grants in our department were DOJ drone related shit. Now I do design work.

Actually the "are you a robot" quizzes are something similar the what I was suggesting be used to a friend of mine while I was laughing at Kimmo's CAPTCHA stupidity. "Identify a people holding an orange" or "Find all the pictures of cake" is a perfectly reasonable request that computer vision can't quite figure out yet. (except in some trained circumstances)

I pretty much documented the whole thing back on TC in the day. I was the crazy anon on TC and IWAB that kept ranting about his /folks count being around 600 and why he was complaining about bots toward the end.
Really, Vocalon took the crown as he drove the final nail into the coffin. It was a request to remove some CP... I was running multiple instances of scripts that just browsed like normal users. It was sort of a field day for the bots, and eventually worked out into Kimmo purging the UIDs and being sad he couldn't track people. And then he figured out he couldn't host his site anywhere. Vocalon's Kathy Johnsoning is key here. As are Kimmo's weird pleas to the company that denied he was experiencing a DDOS. His response to that must have been exciting to see.
BTW those same bots turned! They wanted Falco as their master! They started voting for him on some weird site... And Falco is their new prince!
