It depends. Pre-loading is pretty great, and sometimes the "rewards" are just minor things that you can do without. So, sometimes, there are decent incentives.
Though, of course, this shouldn't come without research into how likely you are to enjoy the game and how likely the developers are to be able to patch things if there's bugs.
