One time an IRL friend of mine asked me to tell an online acquaintance of ours that he had died, as a joke. I went along with it, and the online acquaintance was convinced until he found out otherwise.

In hindsight, it was probably going a bit far, and we did get some of our other Xbox Live friends worried, for a moment.
