all i want to know is when will people put the selfie stick on the drone and film themselves reality TV show style. i bet it wouldn't be hard (for someone that knew how to do it) to tether a drone to follow an RFID tag or something. or maybe that is hard. idk.

anyway, flying robotic pets that follow you around and understand simple commands will totally be a thing.

ROFL @ the thought of this. I think of like Garry's Mod cameras floating around filming people vlogging hahaha.

like, why aren't there micro drones that hone-in on RFID tag key chains? i would never lose my keys again. just push a button and the drones goes and hovers over them or something. they keep talking "the internet of things" and i can't understand why you'd want an internet ready t-shirt or what the fuck ever unless you've got damn good reasons for doing so. but a little army of flying robotic drones that can sense everything and fly around and be like, "you left your favorite shirt in the dryer, sir. it's over here" would probably sell me on the idea of wifi enabled underwear.

yes, it'll totally be a thing. the first person to do it and vlog their own reality-show in real time will be famous.

a self imposed Truman Show scenario sounds pretty terrible to me.

It is a terrible idea, that's why.

My bud has one of those dji phantom drones. They are pretty epic and its probably doable.. We talked about setting waypoints for it to navigate to, as a drone sentry home security thing or something. Sensor detects movement, launches drone to take photos or whatever.

Looking into it, the phantom 3 has a follow mode, and waypoints already and you can program it in an open app, or something.

I'm sure we could rig up something with the kinect to detect movement.
