As you know, I use Colgate Total with the antibacterial ingredient Triclosan in it. I also sometimes use antibacterial hand soap, shower soap, and cleaning products. But I was reading today that, except for toothpaste, in which Triclosan is effective, it is actually no more effective in soaps than plain soap and warm water. This sort of surprised me. What do you think? Do you use antibacterial products?

The problem with all those chemicals is that using too much causes bacteria to evolve to be ridiculously strong. Also, did you know that you are only supposed to use a few milliliters (basically, a pea-sized drop) of toothpaste? Seeing people with chunks of foam dripping out of their mouth makes me sick.
It's like overmedicating people with antibiotics: it will keep them healthy for five days, then for the rest of their life their body will harbor bacteria that are immune to the drug.

No I do not, but the FDA report on Triclosan said that it reports an unusually low occurrence of mutating bacteria. I shall consider this, however.

Distilled water is safe, too, and while pumping it in your colon won't harm you immediately, it will deprive you of vital minerals and will make you sick after an hour.

lol but that is different. I am using this toothpaste in a manner consistent with the FDA's recommendations. I am sure that if I flooded my colon with COlgate, it would indeed harm me.
