What a stupid name. In the UK we refer to it as what it really is 'iced cream'. You can ice cream, but once it has iced it is referred to as iced cream. America are intent on defamation of true English and grammar.

According to the internet, both "is" and "are" are appropriate for collective nouns like that, but I'm not british, so I don't really know. It could all be a conspiracy.

People do all the time, so while it's accepted in american english, it isn't technically correct. The only people who would ever care/notice are angry english teachers or that annoying guy everyone knows who corrects peoples grammar to feel smart.

Correct. In British English, it's 'America are' and 'Americum is'. 'Americum' is the singular of 'America' ('Americums' is also acceptable as the plural in informal writing).

it isnt 'iced' cream you fucking retard faggot, that would indicate freezer burn, we call it "ice cream" as its cold or we call it frozen yogurt (frozen is completely different from "iced")
