Topic: Personal opinions on the Ruby programming language?

I heard this language was close to English so naturally I loaded up a tutorial on Code Academy to check it out. I must say that as far as readability wise it is very well structured.

I like Ruby a lot. It's the language I am currently most proficient at writing and reading.
Ruby 1.8 had memory management issues, but really only because it was written for scripting and not intended for long-running web server processes.
Ruby 1.9 improved garbage collection a little and sped things up a bit. The syntax for hashes became a little better—like JSON. It had some stability issues in many of its minor versions so there was a lot of frustration and confusion to be had.
Ruby 2.0 I never used.
Ruby 2.1 and 2.2 are strongly world class languages. I'm able to be as productive as the language intends to be and I'm able to produce quality code that is easy to maintain.
