Whenever I hear, or see re-tellings of this story on TV, I am now going to remember that the Star of Bethlehem is a super nova that wiped out an advanced civilization.

God, there were so many stars you could have used. What was the need to give these
people to the fire, that the symbol of their passing might shine above Bethlehem?"
