I don't think the US did it on purpose and in the heat of battle mistakes will inevitably be made. I also think we should never have gone to war in Afghanistan in the first place.
But if Russia had accidentally bombed, say a Doctors without Borders hospital in Ukraine or Syria would we ever hear the end of it? Would the media and Washington say it was a tragic mistake or would they be screaming bloody murder about what a monster Putin is? Would they accept Putin's sincere apology and move on?

I'm not sure what answer you're expecting.
The western media generally seems to disapprove when Russia does bad or intimidating stuff. So I presume it would be similarly condemned? But you seem like you're expecting a particular answer, here.

Syria already bombs the shit out of people on purpose, and Russia's barely more moral. People in Syria are outraged enough to have civil war, and while people in Russia are kind of clueless except for some that risk prison or getting murdered by Putin.

Apparently Russia's aim not so much so good. Several new fangled Russkie cruise missiles struck inside Iran. Only question will be how well Rag Heads in Iran take this as accident.
