Why? When I see others with over ten tabs those people tend to show me the same things multiple times. I also notice some of the same tabs literally opened for weeks.

Exactly my point. From previous experience, I can't say that I would ever go back to them. I then started adding everything to my bookmark bar, with very similar results. However, I eventually do go through my favorites once in a while, tabs ended up just being closed without being viewed.
