I didn't like OR/AS either, I prefer Emerald. I love HG/SS though. I've played X/Y, being able to customise your trainer is good, but the region was bland.

the only remakes i liked were FRLG because there was a real reason for it, the originals were glitchy and dated, i didn't like HGSS because they made it look too poppy and ruined the original music (i know there's something that lets you change the music back but that's just a cop-out) also ORAS because it didn't have the charm of the originals and had that stupid eon flight thing, one thing positive i will say about ORAS is some of the music was remixed well and didn't stray too far from the originals like HGSS did

ORAS was fun, x/y was okay.
ORAS has a lot of post-game stuff too so you should prob pick that up, I wouldn't worry about x/y, it was pretty boring but i guess if you're a completist its alright.

Whoa. I have played it, it is a remake of my favourite game of all time. I still play Emerald to this day. After flying to the islands with my latias and catching all the legendaries, I got bored. What is this plethora of post game content you are talking about?

the only glitches r/b had were of the useful variety and none of them could be activated accidentally
also, ORAS whats bad about being able to catch both latios? the trading aspect is easily one of the worst aspects of pokemon

there's loads of glitches that affected you badly, moves could fail, stat boosting moves could roll you back to lower stats and missingno, while it enabled you to duplicate your items, could also crash or fuck up your game
also there's non glitch factors such as psychic being overpowered and there being so few ghost type moves
and about ORAS, i didn't say it was bad that you could catch both latis, i just didn't like the flight gimmick

it never actually happened to me when i caught it on my blue version, my brother had red and it happened to him, so i wasn't aware of the extent of the damage it does

well as a kid when you see the sprites getting all weird you tend to assume the whole thing is completely fucked but it doesn't actually do a whole lot besides garbling the pokemon league records. the main thing was you had to use a name besides ASH to trigger anything other than the basic MISSINGNO. and op Snorlax/Golbat/Muk.
