I'd like initiate a conversate with the public as of late. A boy named something Mercer decided to post a Pepe and then shot up a school the next day. 4chans /r9k/ is now being inundated with posts asking about the mental stability of the board's members.
My question is this: if one of minichan's members had done a similar thing, how do you think our community would handle the attention?

I think it's just a question of probability. In a community as large as 4chan -with hundreds of millions of people- there would have to be a few nutcases. Just like all the murders where the perpetrators posted it on Twitter or Facebook. It doesn't mean 4chan (or Twitter or Facebook) memebers are unstable, it just means that if deranged murderers are .00000000zerosomething percent of the population, then the larger your userbase gets the higher the chance of catching one or two.

I doubt many people here would take it seriously. I mean, Fatfuck is a known pedophile, but nobody (apart from Syntax, maybe) has bothered reporting him to the authorities, either in the United States or in mainland China.
