Topic: Are disabled women more victims than disabled men?
Denmark guy !jJEom8Ii3E started this discussion 11 years ago#45,920
I saw in the news that some feminists claimed disabled women need special attention because they have it worst of all groups. And i am like, fuck you, disabled men have it pretty bad too!
The feminists, man, they are no longer the force for progressive good that they were. They have turned to the dark side of the force, an only deal in absolutes. And are evil.

Yes they are, unless those victims are already underrepresented. Which doesn't seem like the case in this instance

The problem is that feminism isn't a single group. There are many types but when one does good then the credit goes to all of them, even the real bad ones. Thus i think it is fair that it goes the other way too.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, though. Why would you do something that you view as illogical? If you have this perception of the credit being distributed unevenly, then wouldn't the best response to that be to look more closely and try to better distinguish the distinct groups within feminism?

Because if bad groups are getting undeserved credit while the deserving don't mind, it will continue. If it goes the other way, they might rethink the flawed way feminism gets credited.

So you're saying that by perpetuating the negative stereotype that feminists are crazy and hate men, the more moderate ones will be encouraged to step up more?
That could backfire quite badly, you know.

So i guess its feminism to dislike feminism lol. See the problem? We are using the same word for many things, but feminists insist you only use it for the good things it has done and that is the source of the problem, because if a movement of different types can all share the glory yet not the shame, then it distorts the reality of all those movements.
Advocating that disabled men get same attention as disabled women, is not attacking disabled women.

Then, why not advocate that all disabled are treated well, regardless of their gender?

I am a woman, but not a feminist, nor do I believe that disabled women have it worse than disabled men.

I suppose I should also disclose that I am disabled.

Years ago, my left eye was injured badly enough that it had to be removed. These days, I have a false left eye, known as a "glass eye", that is high-quality and expensive, and looks almost like a real eye.
