Toni, do you mind if I ask a few questions about your transsexuality, and transsexualism in general? Transsexuality is am interacting topic for me, from a paycholoigical perspective. You don't have to answer any of these if you don't want to.
When did you first realise you identified differently to others who were born male?
What do you think causes transsexuality? I've done some reading on the causes myself, but I was curious on your take on this.
Are the people around you generally accepting of you being trans?

As early on as I can remember. As a child I always wanted to play with the girls. I thought boys were brutal and cruel, and I found their games stupid and boring. > > What do you think causes transsexuality? I've done some reading on the causes myself, but I was curious on your take on this.
I believe that genuine cases are genetic and hormonal issues.

Have you read about how the brains of transsexuals are different? There's a specific part in there which more closely resembles that of the opposite sex. Though the difference in brain structure might've been caused by the hormonal or genetic differences.

I'm pretty much on the same page. The evidence strongly supports that homosexuality and transsexualism are largely biological, and present from birth.

I am glad you agree. Not many do. As a child, I always felt "safe" playing with girls, and angry and terrified around boys. My childhood was perfectly normal, so I cannot blame some sort of trauma or anything. My parents were pretty traditional and very good parents.

I think things are improving, though. Just recently in America, gay marriage was legalised. It seems that people are becoming more tolerant of homosexuality (and transsexuality to perhaps s slower extent), so there'll probably be more acceptance of those conditions as bological.
It's interesting that you actively resented boys, rather than merely not identifying with them. Is it because they mistreated you? Has that attitude improved with age?

I think I resented them, because their games were so mindless and violent. The boys in my neighborhood (who were good people in general), would built "forts" and do "raids" that would almost always end up with stick sword fights that injured one of them. I could not understand how they thought physical pain was fun, and I got mad because they seemed so stupid. No, they did not mistreat me. I just found their sense of amusement to be rather low-brow. The attitude has improved, sure, in terms of men who are intelligent. But in terms of the douchebag men, I feel the same way.

We cannot help but acr in such rowdy ways. It is fun to pretend to have been a pirate or play stick tag or whatever fun thing from my childhood. The pain made it seem more real and gave actual stakes and made victory that much more rewarding. I found it really easy to talk to both guys and girls but feminine guys were a bit awkward for me because I was embarrassingly attracted to them.

I never understood this. When I was younger, I definitely had more friends that were female than make (even to this day). I've never had a feeling of not being safe around anyone, but then again I was always the killer. Anyway, my point is that regardless of me hanging around girls (most my family is girls too btw), being afraid of my own father as a baby and a young child, and also doing things that were pretty gay (like painting my cousin's nails lol), I always knew I was straight. Never have I thought of myself being gender confused or being homosexual, and now in my adult life the only thing I'm uncertain about is ever finding a wife. The more time that passes the more I seem not to care.

@605,467 (Meowth) > I always knew I was straight. Never have I thought of myself being gender confused or being homosexual
As I understand it, humans generally have an innate feel for this. Often, transgendered or homosexual people will "just know" that they're different from their same-sex peers. So it's not surprising that didn't "become" transgendered or homosexual despite arguably irregular circumstances, that stuff is determined by you internal wiring that's there from birth.

You know what's interesting is that when I was younger I always thought that some acquaintances were gay. Years later, after high school years, I wasn't wrong. I'm not saying that I'm always right about guessing, but it was the fact that I just had that hunch. Same thing with another kid I knew, but I figured he would die a stupid ass death. Years later, find out he's dead from a trip to Vegas after wearing no seatbelt and flying out the winshield. Turns out he had a dumbass friend (the driver) who thought it would be a great idea to just completely remove the springs to lower his Civic (not bullshit, really was a Civic). I know that's different, but definitely the gay guys I just always had that feeling they were.

It's not implausible that your gay acquaintances were behaving differently. So you might've picked up on that, on some level. I've come across a few studies wherein gay kids act differently to straight ones.
Not saying this is a definite explanation, or anything, but there is some psychological basis for your predictions, arguably.

Very interesting. That definitely could be a factor, although there are other variables as well. As kids, my guy cousin and I used to really butt heads which would often push me towards my girl cousins (he's the only boy). The world may never know lol.
