Not possible in Facebook OS. You can only like things, and liking something will get their adverts a turn on your desktop
Oh yeah, it would also have user-targeted ads on the desktop. Lots of them. You couldn't add your own custom desktop either, because that would interfere with the ads.

The login loading screen will actually be a 30 second mandatory video ad. A webcam will be required in order to verify you're actually watching the ad. Closing your eyes or turning away from the screen will not deny access to login.
