If you hit a Reptilian, then I think standard policy is for your insurance company to burn all documents mentioning you and deny everything. If you hit Alf, then the MiB probably just tell you forget about it and give you a cat you think you always had owned. If you hit a Yautja or a Xenomorph or something you probably won't be around to file a claim. It varies pretty heavily by species.
