Topic: Have you ever considered suicide based on these thoughts... ?

Catherine !TGirlYJKXM started this discussion 11 years ago #45,653

That you are not real. That you are in fact a simulation who's expendable. That you can feel whenever you witness someone lecture or communicate with you. That thoughts regarding your future can lead you to the feeling that you're being programmed. Sometimes this happens to me and it is frightening. I sometimes feels like my life is a movie that only I am witnessing. That events both online and in real life are merely scripted. Are these signs of something serious?

It's called disassociation and is a symptom of depression as well as some other things

Mention this to your therapist, maybe.

I usually do, but I am discrete since I heard they have to commit your to a hospital if you mention you're suicidal.
At least in the state of California.

Why don't you want to be committed?

Being committed could help you.

But then we wouldn't have all those truly fascinating threads about the sims or how gay wrestling is.

I too have enjoyed hearing more about this fascinating homosexual sport. Yet it may be time to consider new options in terms of mental health.

When I was a lad, a friend would grab me often to perform these wrestling moves that he had seen on the television. And so wrestling propogated the gay lifestyle upon the youth, whether they wanted it or not.

Being committed to a hospital where they restrict your freedom?
Would I even be able to go to school or browse the Internet there?
Can they aid me in gender transition or help me with the knowledge that my parents didn't bestow upon me?

Why would they help me?

@602,394 (D)
See my reasons above.

Being away from the noise of daily life could give you a new outlook. Being under professional care could improve your mental health.

We're all the star of our own show. Consciousness is a hell of a drug! With the exception of suicide being involved, the stuff you're talking about has been discussed extensively by people for a long time. Why would the idea of not being real make you suicidal? I honestly don't see the connection.

I don't see the connections between a lot of shit I think up. So I guess, welcome to my mind?

Or make me feel even more sheltered.

You're allowed your phone, but it has to be put in a locker and used only at certain times.

There's a difference between actively planning and/or attempting suicide versus simply thinking about it. The latter is clinically referred to as ideation and it isn't something that triggers the mandatory reporting or committing to a hospital.
