In New York, I went to a friend's apartment on the 50th floor. Going out on his balcony was terrifying. 18 is pretty high though, yeah. I am scared of heights, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I dated a girl for a bit that lived in a big apartment building in downtown Kansas City, she lived on like the 9th floor or something. Before going to her place I'd only been in a few small apartment buildings in my life, mostly single story ground floor units. But her building was huge, you could probably get lost in the place. The first time I went in was a shocking experience for me, wall to wall apartments in every direction was just too much for this guy from the country. Every floor we went up I felt a little more claustrophobic. By the time we were walking down her hall I was seriously considering making up an excuse to leave. I can't believe people like living life that way, stacked on top of each other surrounded on all sides by people. I never could get comfortable at her place, and I was relieved when I realized I never had to go back.
