Streaming media dis-services such as Netflix and Spotify require nonfree client programs that impose digital restrictions mechanisms (DRM) intended to stop the user from saving a copy of the data being streamed through her own computer. You should never use DRM that you can't break, so you should not use these dis-services unless you can break their DRM.
A friend once asked me to watch a video with her that she was going to display on her computer using Netflix. I declined, saying that Netflix was such an affront to freedom that I could not be party to its use under any circumstances whatsoever.
These streaming dis-services are malicious technology designed to make people antisocial. (If you don't have a copy, you can't share copies.) Rejecting them is of the highest ethical priority.

Yes its true one cannot directly burn a DVD with Netflix - Your browser is getting in the way.
You can however burn Netflix steams into DVD using a Video converter and there are several that work just Fantastic.

the fuck are you talking about OP? just run your audio/video cables to a VCR and hit record.
you can always out low-tech DRM. don't know why you'd want to keep a video library anymore though. do people really still do that? have movie collections?

I thought about mentioning the lower fi VCR way to record that you suggested. Then thought I might get slammed for suggesting a bit of a lower tech way to accomplish that task.

Notice I have not mentioned one of several programs that digitally capture netflix. Stock wise Netflix has been vary vary good to me even at its current somewhat lower price its still been fantastic.
Also work wise its not so much so good for me to suggest ways to get around copyrights.
