I wanted so many times to return the behavior of atheists who so determinately spread atheistic propaganda. I wanted to do the same to them as they have done to so many others and deny them of any kindness with the excuse that i am simply speaking the truth.
Then i realized that the reason those atheists do that is because they are simply doing what i intended and did do to them, returning the favor. So instead i am going to say that its okay to be atheist and that if anyone gives you shit about it, ignore those fuckers.

Not really. Your family believes in God. I believe God is just a Cartoon character. Many believe Cartoons books are trash.
Trash is frankly a necessarily evil. Cartoons make great entertainment but one day one grows up and finds adult entertainment.

Its not about if they have earned their respect from you with their beliefs or lack of beliefs, its more about if they have earned their respect as human beings. I don't live in a world where respect must be earned and i think that is great. Gods don't believe in gods in the same way that most people don't find it necessary to believe in, say, chairs. They know they're there, they know they're there for a purpose, they'd probably agree that they have a place in a well-organised universe, but they wouldn't see the point of believing, of going around saying "O great chair, without whom we are as naught."
