No, I'm quite sure it does by the author's definition of "mass shooting". I personally wouldn't consider three people a "mass" shooting (I'm not saying it's insignificant but just that three is less than what I would consider a mass of anything, like you wouldn't call three people with signs a "mass protest" or arrest of three people a "mass arrest"). But why can't we ever be optimistic? Why can't we say "yes America has a murder problem but it's trending downwards and we're making progress"?
Listening to the media you'd have no idea firearms homicides peaked over 20 years ago and have been trending downwards since. You're less likely to be shot now than you were in 1994 and I personally think that is a good thing.

To clarify, I don't think it's really any harder to get a gun now than in 1994 and the assualt weapons ban expired (and probably didn't do much since most homicides use handguns not rifles) so I don't think it's gun laws. But I think there's a lot to both legalized abortion and the removal of lead from gasoline and paint.

Well, as an American sometimes I take it personally. Yes, America has problems but I don't think it's the worst country in the world. It's not the best but it's not the worst. I think America's just an okay country really. Sort of mid tier. I just get tired of the constant America bashing and then everyone piles on and I feel pitted against the whole fora. It makes me feel like an outcast.
