1. Ignorant people: most cannot find any other countries on a map, name how many Senators they have, etc.
2. Monolingual: most cannot speak any other language but "American English".
3. Government has a policy of invading and occupying foreign lands that most USAmericans cannot find, and calling their innocent citizen "terrorists".
4. Thinks that the entire world, outside of USAmerican, is "a third world shithole wasteland".
5. Believes that "Republicans and Democrats" represent the entire spectrum of human political thought.
Just my opinion. Feel free to disagree without becoming hostile.

I've met many Americans and 99% of them are very pleasant people and whilst I've had misunderstandings in the past it's almost always a cultural difference that neither of us was aware of.
For example in the USA self-depreciating humour is seen as a sign of a weak mind and low self-esteem, but in the UK the same humour is seen as a sign of a very confident person.

They are lovely people, for sure. My point is that they are arrogant and ignorant.

The remarkable thing, Matt, is that you epitomize the Ugly American stereotype. One might say you are projecting.

Are you British? I like British comedians, I love British panel shows like QI, but I prefer American standup. Which will make sense as I'm gonna relate to it more.
