...most of which are very physically painful, such as being circumcised with a knife, etc., would you agree to it? Keep in mind that males can opt out, but if they do, they will be treated as eternal children, and not men.

I'd do it. Everyone does it except absolute cowards. Societal shame is a huge pressure.
