I think there's a topic in this already

Externally hosted imageIt seems like this was all just a ploy for her to get sympathy and attention. What a sick little bitch. I would hope the backlash drives her to suicide, but I'm sure she's too narcissistic for that. It really seems like the kid would have never committed suicide if not for her constant encouragement, she was actually upset that he was taking so long. This story is so fucked.

I'm sure it was deleted, remember minichan loves suicide.

I don't think it was. IIRC, hater made it but didn't name them in his OP.

I would go to confirm, but I'm afraid that I don't care.

I think it was just a post in a thread somewhere, not a thread of it's own. I could be wrong.

did you read her texts to him? he literally wouldn't have done it but she totally convinced him to do it. She actually came up with the method, which he then used, and she had more than enough time to talk him down, get him help, or at least notify someone. She didn't cut his throat, but she might as well have.

his death is firmly laid at her feet, she's absolutely responsible for it. she deserves jail, no doubt.

she was literally on the phone with him as he died and made sure he didn't chicken out, going so far as to instruct him (while he was drugged and partially poisoned) to continue even though he actually got out of the car and changed his mind, and she then convinced him to get back in so he would die.

i mean... this was murder, they can apparently only get manslaughter or whatever, but she killed his ass.

he was making all kinds of efforts to delay his suicide and find reasons to not do it, but there she was manipulating him to not delay anymore and to "quit thinking about it" and just do it.

this was no kind of misunderstanding of teen culture or anything like that, she wanted him dead and she very actively set in motion the events that caused it.

she also frequently used a bullying and aggressive tone when he was having second thoughts, but then got all lovie and sweet and had kind words for him after he'd re-dedicate himself to it. she was using positive and negative reinforcement to modify his behavior like he was a fucking dog. month after month. i got the impression from the texts that he was desperate to find a way out of suicidal thinking and all she did was obstruct that exit and turn him right around.

Does this mean that anyyone who posts "kill yourself" in reply to another user will be liable for prosecution if the person in question commits suicide?

well, i was thinking maybe they'd come across some texts like that and blew it all up, but no, no... she was... she was like really sincere. and persistent. soooo persistent. Everyday, asking if "Is today the day?" or "Are you going to do it," or "When," or "Do it now, if you don't do it tonight then you'll never do it. You'll just talk yourself out of it again and again. I don't understand, i'm confused, it's just that you promised me, and, well, it's frustrating when you just give up. You have no follow through, quit being a flake and do it tonight. for me."

i bet she slept like a baby after she listened to him die (presumably groaning in pain if she's to be believed) on the phone. the sound of the humming generator in the background and his vacant silence must've been music to her ears since she listened for 10 more minutes after he stopped crying.

I agree that what she's done is horrific, but a guilty verdict in this case would set some serious legal precedents, don't you think?

squeegee replied with this 11 years ago, 11 minutes later, 5 hours after the original post[^] [v] #594,222

@previous (H)
uh, they are basing their arguments on similar legal precedents that are already established. it's in the PDF that's linked

Lol.

> CARTER: ... ifyou don't think about it, you won't think about failing. You'lljust do it and then thinking you'll succeed.
> CONRAD: Right. That's what I'm talking about. I read so much about failed attempts gone wrong that it's gotten me discouraged.
> CARTER: Yeah, exactly, so stop doing that. There is more success than there are failures.
> CONRAD: Are you kidding me?

A guilty verdict would basically mean that anyone who tells someone else to kill him/herself online would be culpable if that person follows through on the suggestion. It would also have other ramifications if intent and foreknowledge are not considered. For example, if someone asks me "Should I kill myself?" my answer would be "No, I think you should seek professional help." However, if someone asks me my general views on suicide, I'd answer "I believe that every individual has the right to terminate their existence if they choose." An over-zealous prosecutor could interpret that second statement as an incitement to suicide.

You could never legally assist in a suicide.

This isn't new. It's not because she said "go kill yourself" it's because she persistently pushed him towards suicide, helped him plan, and while he was in the process of doing it encouraged him instead of getting him help. It's not the same as someone saying "go kill yourself."

As I said, an over-zealous prosecutor could turn a chance statement into incitement to suicide. This is one of the few places where I believe the "slippery slope" argument applies.
