I realise that this may draw some criticism... But for me, it is the USA.Sure, they do have their problems, but I feel that it's a positive force in the world, overall. It seems that be tending towards being a socially progressive place, and usually pushes for freedom and liberty.
Also, they produce so much entertainment media that I enjoy. Games, comics, movies, there's a lot of entertaining stuff coming out of America. All of it in my language, too, which is more than can be said for those Japanese.

I would have to say Canada. Mainly because its the only other country I've been to, and they have some of the most beautiful wilderness one could find anywhere.
I would like to visit Australia though. When I hiked the Appalachian Trail last year, I met a couple from there, and they have invited me there to hike some of the trails that Australia has with them.

Worked and lived in Australia. Much to say good about it but its a lot like USA of 1950's. I also hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail - fantastic - However the John Muir Trail in California is still my most Fav. I did that trail end to end 4 times but never did actually finish it because I did not want to hike to top of Whitney -
