Just got an email about revised state laws to protect children. Now I need to undergo a child abuse clearance thing. I never interact with kids at my job. I used to interact with newborns, but not in years and I never will again.
I admitted to a therapist im a pedophile. I'm worried this will cause me to fail any child abuse screen. If this is so, and I lose my job, I won't be able to even get a new job cause of these laws and my experience and education are very specific.
I don't get why there has to be so much expense to protect idiot's kids. If you let your kid get molested that's your fault. Not mine.
Now I'm gonna be sick for weeks waiting on this shit.
Edit: it's vague what it looks for, but it seems they just look for past or current investigations or allegations. So, I should be in the clear.

I really dont know why. They used to just care if you had felonies, but after the deep background checks a worker got fired because years before, she had fallen asleep and her todler wandered off from the house. the child was fine and she got like probation. When my work found out, she was fired and couldnt come back for a year

It's very likely to be just a background check and maybe a little paperwork like kook said. It's probably insurance related. Don't sweat it unless something like domestic violence/child abuse is on your record.

It's for legal purposes. We have to be in compliance by dec because its the law. I'm guessing, since im included and don't interact with children, the purpose was to pad the pockets of a wealthy donor or a politician who owns the place that goes around finger printing people. Oh yes, I also need to get fingerprinted.
This is some bullshit. Someone is making money off this, I just don't know who. I didn't even know about the law until now.

Your best protection long term is to go under the knife for actually castration. Share this with your therapist.
Then she will never have a reason to report you to anyone. Only way anyone is going to know what is in her files is to look. Or if she thinks you are a threat to kids and then I suspect the law says she can report you. You want to do the right thing anyway so get on with it.

Oh, I was worried it would come out in a background check, my therapist did say he wouldn't change my billing, but trust isn't a virtue of mine.

My therapist said that treatment only helps people for empathy for children, and I already had that. He encouraged me to date women and start a family. He said he had patients who offended against kids who were able to get better and have a family.
I just didn't know if anything would be in my chart and I didn't know how these background checks go.

I'm not sure about your job, but you can be sure are on a few dozen watchlists now(or a few dozen more than the rest of us already are, thanks NSA)
Now they have a solid reason to keep an eye and you are on thin ice, anything can be used against you. So you better watch out for that.

Which time? First time to see wha it was, but didn't know anyonion sites so didnt use it. Then Silk Road but was too afraid to buy anything. Then a few times to use webservices with a different IP for a multitude of reasons.
