Less than an hour away from Paris, a French passenger got up from his seat to use the toilets at the back of the carriage. Suddenly, in front of him rose a slightly built man. Across the man’s chest, in a sling, was an automatic rifle of the kind favored by jihadists the world over: an AK-47.
The passenger threw himself on the man. The gun went off, once, twice, several times. Glass shattered. A bullet hit a passenger.
The man with the gun kept going down the carriage, holding his AK-47 and a Luger pistol. In a pocket was a sharp blade capable of inflicting grievous harm. He had at least nine cartridges of ammunition, enough for serious carnage.
Alek Skarlatos, a specialist in the National Guard from Oregon vacationing in Europe with a friend in the Air Force, Airman First Class Spencer Stone and another American, Anthony Sadler, looked up and saw the gunman. Mr. Skarlatos, who was returning from a deployment in Afghanistan, looked over at the powerfully built Mr. Stone, a martial arts enthusiast. “Let’s go, go!” he shouted.

In France that is 0.22 per 100,000 per year. The population of France is ~66 million. So (~66 million / 100 thousand) * 0.22 = ~145, which means 145 people die per year due to gun violence in France. Now let's add our fictitious 500 to bring that to 545. Then we calculate the rate per 100,000 again with (100 thousand / 66 million) * 545 = 0.82, so that would bring us to 0.82 homicides per 100,000 in france. Compare that to your 3.55 per 100,000 of 'murikkka. More than 4x the amount of people (per 100,000) die due to gun violence in merica. France doesn't seem like such a bad place to live now, does it?
Oh and p.s. France is actually relatively high on the list of firearm-related homicides compared to the rest of Europe. An exercise for the reader is to average France's number with the rest of Europe (it will be lower) and compare that with merica.

At present (2008), the USAF still provides 22 tactical B61 nuclear bombs for use by the Netherlands under the NATO nuclear weapons sharing agreement. These weapons are stored at Volkel Air Base and, in time of war, they may be delivered by Royal Netherlands Air Force F-16 warplanes.[2] (The Dutch government has never formally admitted or denied the presence of these weapons, but former prime ministers Dries van Agt and Ruud Lubbers both acknowledged their presence in 2013.[3][4])

Asking them to post increasingly absurd levels of proof, even when they are obviously right, and then dismissing it with some vague hand waving is a pretty good tactic. Once they are properly outraged, accusing them of random fallacies has been known to increase butthurt while derailing the topic further.
