Well to be honest zizek didn't say this. He said it in a different way which was a lot more complicated and harder to understand. I still don't understand so what you saw was what i thought he meant or something. Ugh. I need to sleep.

idk, i think he means that you can't have "normal" without the abnormal to compare it against? And that no one grows up to become normal, it's culture that changes to define what makes abnormal unacceptable. or something. i have no clue. is there any further context?
