I have a morbid fascination with scuba diving deaths. Something about dying underwater, alone.
Here is Australian world-record diver Dave Shaw, attempting an unheard-of recovery of the body of another diver in a cave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF4iFJ-G74o. He's at 270 meters (890 feet) struggling with the body when he gets caught in wires, starts breathing too heavily, and eventually dies. This is a great read about the attempt.

There's this book about cave diving I read once, which described the worst fucking scuba diving death I've ever heard about. This guy got lost in a cave system, but managed to find an air pocket with a ledge. Not enough air in his tank to try to dive back out, the battery on his lights ran out, so he just sat there and waited. And waited. His body was eventually found there on the ledge.
