Me: "Ok, I will go. But why not just meet at the store? That way, we do not have to go all the way back across town just to pic up a car?"

It's just one of those things. Women want men that can kick other mens asses, that's just a natural survival instinct. A strong and violent man can protect her, and her children from other violent men. A woman wants a violent man, but not one that is so violent that he actually puts her and her children in danger.
Women will provoke you to violence, it's just part of their nature. Most of the time they will just provoke you for practice though.
