I guess I meant in the objective sense, rather than what the dedicated fans think.

Then again, Disney throwing the Star Wars EU into the bin was kind of a dick move, so maybe there is some justified cause for concern.

It had cool stuff in it, like Thrawn or the Yuuzhan Vong. Not to mention the KotOR games.

But anyway, Dr Who doesn't have an EU that's considered canon anyway, so there's no risk of that. It's just a question of if Disney would exert any other sort of creative control.
