I don't mean that in a callous way. She's severely delusional, schizophrenia is a terrible illness. She will likely end up homeless. Likely end up dying of exposure, as they often do. Her life will be going from one hell to the next. Even with a huge support system, the prognosis isn't good for such severe cases. I don't even know of any one who they were wiling to diagnose do early. I see it as a kindness.

They will be treated as Adults Only cause laws are weak if treated as Juvies. Its currently a fucked up system - Judges were given latitude to re-classify them as adults.
Its kinda like a computer patch. Fixes a bug in the system without correcting the system.

A judge in my city was sending kids to juvie for minor offenses for kickbacks. Only he went to jail, it was weird, like it had to have been a much bigger problem, but they threw the one guy under the bus (he deserved punishment).
One kid killed himself and his mother blamed the judge, but to be honest, he was still following the law, so while it was unfortunate her son went to juvie for small possession of drugs, he killed himself cause he was a weak bitch. The gene pool is likely better off.
