I sometimes think I can admire the Indian culture, philosophy, and religions all while at the same time weep at the thought of the Indian population living in poverty.

Why? I agree everyone I know who visited claims to love India, but they all agreed there was a horrible smell in the cities, and that the men would openly leer at women and two different women were openly masturbated at, one three times on her trip. She did say a crowd of men attacked the one guy for doing it, though.
It's just while everyone says its great, everything described sounds awful, and it's a really impoverished place. I don't see the appeal.
