Depends
On public property then for the most part no although you can be stopped if a police officer suspects that you are taking photographs to aid in an act of terrorism, they can look at your photos and confiscate the camera if they have a reasonable suspicion but they can't delete photographs without a court order
On private property you need permission but if a security guard stops you they can't do much because they are a member of the public
If they take your camera by force they may have committed assault and have committed theft, also the tort of trespass to person and trespass to property so you should call the police
If they threaten to take your equipment they may have committed assault
All they can do is ask you to stop taking photos and use reasonable force to eject you from the property if necessary
