I think its a pretty disgusting thing to do. We should reduce the population down to just the minimum needed for healthy genetic diversity, and these individuals should be of superior genetics (intelligence, empathy, good looks). Then, we should start working back up. A few older folks can stick around who teach the young ones (none older than 4 in the breeding group so they can be properly socialized). Advancement of technology would be set back initially, but within 10 generations, I expect they will surpass where humanity likely would have been, given the lack of impediments and distractions.
