its not really about who's and what help they needed, its more about if or if not feminism had anything to do with it and it turns out it had nothing to do with it.

Reasonable argument although he needs more citations than just one book

But i can't help see something negative in all of that. Sure, it is moral thing to be thankful for what your ancestors gave you and fought for you to have. Sooner or later though, you have to take the path of those very same ancestors and form your own battles with your own definitions.

Sean Lang, “Parliamentary Reform, 1785-1928″, Routledge 1999. is the only proper reference there the other is a link to a blog or something that doesn't actually have any citations on it to prove what it's saying

Well at least in my country, Iceland, it is well known that women did not only gain the right to vote, but working class men. It happened on a similar time as the rest of it happened. IT makes you think that it had nothing to do with feminism, and to be honest its fair to think so, there is no indication that anything those women or men did had anything to do with feminism, maybe they did indeed demand to be equal, equal in gender, class and respect. Then feminism simply claimed that all of that was called feminism.

Well then perhaps its not too much to ask that feminists provide proof? Proof that somehow explains a global trend of universal suffrage that not only greatly increased the right to vote for women but also men. I would like to see them try to explain that feminism had anything to do with it.
